So beispielsweise auch sehr oft Brote oder Brötchen, die dick bestrichen waren mit etwa der übriggebliebenen Tomatensoße, einer leckeren Mischung aus Senf und Honig oder einfach nur Butter, die ich mit Kräutersalz gewürzt hatte. Darauf kamen dann gaaaanz viele Schichten von Käse (mindestens 2 verschiedene Sorten), Wurst, Schinken, möglicherweise auch die Frikadelle vom Vortag, kleingeschnittenes Hähnchen, Salat, Gurken... ach was weiß ich. Auf jeden Fall viel. Immer wurde ich für meine Türme ausgelacht. Jetzt weiß ich ja, wo ich hingehöre... Wahrscheinlich habe ich so unbewusst und im Geheimen "Subway" erfunden. I have an American friend who felt the same way and I felt like that when I came home to Germany after having spent 3 years abroad in countries with generally friendly and happy people in Latin America and also the U.S. My friend spent a few years in Germany and said the same things you did. After a while though it got better, she met friends and got to appreciate Germany. It takes a long time to have real friends here, but once you do, everything changes :-) I spent a few years with Americans and got so used to meat and cheese (it’s great!) that I still do it here in Germany.
